SINP New Tech Talent Pathway: A One-way Ticket to Saskatchewan for IT Professionals

Date:

Did you know that if you want to live and work in Saskatchewan, Canada, you may be eligible for two immigration streams even if you don’t have a job offer?

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is one of several PNP Saskatchewan Canada programs that provide immigration possibilities for foreign applicants who have not been offered a job. While Express Entry is the most popular route of immigration in Canada, the PNP is another viable option.

Overview of Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan is nestled between the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Alberta. Agriculture, energy, industry, oil and gas, and life sciences are all thriving industries in this seventh-largest province of Canada. It’s also regarded as one of Canada’s most welcoming provinces for newcomers.

What is SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program)?

The SINP was launched to assist the Saskatchewan province in benefiting from Canada immigrant visa. In Saskatchewan, overseas workers and international graduates help meet skills and labour shortages. They also develop businesses that benefit the local economy by employing more Saskatchewan citizens. International skilled workers can apply for nomination certificates from the SINP, which will allow them to seek permanent residency in Canada.

What is SINP New Tech Talent Pathway?

The PNP Saskatchewan Canada program has launched a new tech immigration programme called the ‘Tech Talent Pathway,’ which is aimed to recruit tech employees in 11 different occupations who want to relocate to Saskatchewan.

The programme aims to address Saskatchewan’s acute labour shortages in the tech sector. Thanks to this new pathway to permanent residence for tech professionals, employers in Saskatchewan’s technology and innovation sectors can now attract more talent to promote growth and boost Saskatchewan’s global competitiveness.

This new stream of Canada immigrant visa will make the immigration process easier and quicker for IT specialists in Saskatchewan who are currently employed and those who have been recruited from outside the province.

What Kind of Technical Jobs are Included in Saskatchewan’s new Programme?

Candidates with a job offer in any of the occupations listed below may be eligible to apply to the Saskatchewan Tech.

  • Computer and Information Systems Managers
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineers
  • Computer Engineers
  • Information System Analysts and Consultants
  • Database Analysts and Data Administrators
  • Software Engineers and Designers
  • Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers
  • Web Designers and Developers
  • Computer Network Technicians
  • User Support Technicians
  • Information System Testing Technicians

Eligibility Criteria for SINP Tech Talent Pathway

Applicants must meet the below-listed criteria to be considered for the Tech Talent Pathway:

  • You are eligible to apply for the program if you live outside of Canada or have legal status in Canada.
  • Having a permanent, full-time job offer in Saskatchewan’s technology or innovation economy is a must. Besides, a valid SINP Job Approval Letter is required to prove and certify your intent to work and dwell in Saskatchewan.
  • If the applicant is not employed in Saskatchewan at the time of application, a CLB level 5 is required, or a CLB level 7 if applying for Express Entry.
  • If you are applying from another province in Canada or another country, you must have related work experience of one year in your desired occupation within the last five years.
  • If you are applying from Saskatchewan, you must be currently employed in the province and have worked full-time for at least six months.
  • You must submit a letter from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) to show that your application for registration as an Engineer-in-Training has been granted if you are a Computer Engineer, Software Engineer, or Electrical and Electronics Engineer.
  • You must also have post-secondary education relevant to the employment you’ve been offered.

The SINP is limited by the number of nominations it can make each year by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, which is part of the federal government (IRCC).

Eligibility for Express Entry Candidates

Candidates applying through Express Entry are also qualified to participate in this stream, albeit the requirements may alter slightly. For permanent residency, Express Entry applications are processed first by IRCC.

You are required to have a valid Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Code to be considered for the Express Entry pool. In addition, a language test score that matches the federal Express Entry language standards is also necessary.

Express Entry manages the Federal Skilled Trades Program, which is predominantly for IT workers.

What is a Job Approval Letter in Saskatchewan?

Foreign nationals can request a nomination in Saskatchewan using Job Approval Letters (JAL).

Employers in Saskatchewan must get a Certificate of Registration from the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety to hire foreign nationals. Employers in Saskatchewan must then apply for a Job Approval Letter for each foreign worker they want to hire.

Conclusion

Matching all eligibility criteria and handling the whole process of getting into the SINP Tech Talent Pathway can prove difficult for one individual alone. So, if you are interested in the PNP Saskatchewan Canada programs, the best way is to visit immigration professionals. They are aware of the latest developments in these programs and can even assist you with their requirements.
