Online Education and Policy Makers

Date:

Teachers or educators are considered to be the spiritual parents of the students. Educators play an essential role in building the foundation of the students. Their absence and presence may affect the institutional culture. The drawback of being an educator is that they come from front-line workers. Although they work day and night nurturing their students, schedule their class and home tasks and prepare them for the future, despite all these qualities, they can’t make strategies regarding Online Education and Policy Makers .

When designing devise strategies for educational systems, educators are not given a chance to make one. Instead, the educational policies are made by legislation and other regulatory authority, which is not as aware of the situations of the institutes as much as teacher is known. In their designed policies, it’s all about the technological tools used in the educational systems, how to use them and how students can access them for their needs.

Initially, when education was started systematically, strategic planners and policymakers were hired to design the strategies. Still, since the online system has stepped into the system, all these policymakers are hidden. Historically, policies were designed for every educational institute in a country’s cities, districts and provinces. Nowadays, such rules can’t be seen enough.

In this fast pacing world, online education is the biggest trend in the USA. Although the USA is a developed country and its educational policies are non-competent to that of others, when it comes to e-learning, there is a dilemma in their policymakers. It is a well-known debate that in this digital move where everything is technologized, policymakers can’t compete with it. Strategies are now shifting to the word ‘tactics’. Educators and students want to know the tactics used to operationalize online education’s digital systems rather than those rigid policies used in previous times.

Policies are not competent for the accelerating move of online educational systems. Now, this is becoming a challenge for policymakers to re-designing their strategies accordingly. USA policymakers are thinking about it and are trying to jot down the strategies with the ink that would not dry and will not be metaphorical. They are making sure that their designed policies will not become outdated. They are also focusing on flexible strategies that could be changed by introducing and implementing new technologies in the educational systems.

The USA is diligently working on their policymakers, but educators are also working effortlessly on these policies. This is a challenging approach for educators, as they must know the correct use of technology and its accessibility. Educators are working on aligning tactics with their teaching strategies while considering the impact of cell phones, webs, and other technologies on students’ health, and they are managing accordingly.

How are the USA’s policymakers accommodating to the online education era?

While interpreting the need for tactics to work in digital systems effectively, US policymakers have focused on recruiting the workforce in educational institutes. Some educators are old but are knowledgeable enough not to be replaced, so they somehow take online class help to cope with the situation. However, when talking about the new workforce, it must be diversified in terms of technological awareness.

Entering the smart workforce in the market may also be challenging for the students because they might be competent for their international peers. Past policies that are being designed are not enough to achieve this smart goal. The goal of upcoming legislation of the USA is the same as theirs. They have introduced an act called ‘NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND’. According to this act, they ensure the favourable effect of their policies on school, college and university students.

Institute of Higher Education Policy (IHEP) ensures that they give quality education through online systems that students graduating might be able to enter their workforce, and the cycle repeats. Legislators and policymakers are now emphasizing that college students must focus on entering reputable universities and fields while university students must focus on careers. When legislation focuses on heavy admissions in high school, their limits may reach a high level. Labs and classrooms will not be sufficient to manage this high strength of students.

The enormous strength of students can be tackled from the online educational systems. The limitation of stretch seating capacity has forced policy makers to think about e-learning. Online education is the best option for students to access more courses efficiently. Technology is the only key to driving up online education, so US policymakers in this regard have drafted a document that serves the direction of education it must go.

US policymakers must consider the following policies to make their online education system more up to the mark;

  1. Introduction:

They must introduce new technology and systems in the educational system. Both educators and students must know about the latest versions because they are the users, so they must be introduced first.

  1. Model of courses:

Online courses must be designed according to the tactics introduced by policymakers. Sometimes, courses’ characteristics are unmatchable with the introduced technology, which may be problematic in the future.

  1. Curricular control:

Curricular control could be handed over to the teachers because they know the basics of courses. They are well informed about the infusing of courses in particular classes. Educators must take overall control of online courses.

  1. Taking help from outside contractors:

Any private or public institute must not agree to the outside entities without the federation’s approval. To take permission from legislation first is a friendly bullet of the policy because legislation better knows which country is good in this regard and which is not.

  1. Academic integrity:

Academic integrity is the main objective of US policymakers in educational institutions. Once the system is integrated, they can face any upcoming challenge on a roadmap of education.

BOTTOM LINE: The US is consistently working on their innovative policies because they want to be evergreen regarding educational systems. They knew the importance of the alignment of online education systems to their systems. There are addressing different technological needs regularly and working on them. They must also consider the above-suggested strategies to be upgraded.
