New life+] young again in another world: Life before the accident
Before the accident, my life was pretty average. I worked at a bank and lived with my parents. I wasn’t really into anything, but I was okay with it.
Then, one day, something happened that changed everything. I was in line at the bank when someone crashed into me from behind. The impact sent me flying across the room and into a wall.
I woke up in the hospital, surrounded by doctors and nurses. They told me that I had suffered a brain injury and would never be the same again.
To say that I was stunned would be an understatement. Somehow my life had been turned upside down without even realizing it.
But despite all of the setbacks, I refused to give up on myself or my dream of living a normal life again. And after many months of rehab and therapy, I finally began to make some progress.
Nowadays, I’m able to live independently and work part-time at a library nearby. But nothing can truly replace the lost time or happiness that I’ve experienced since the accident – no matter how good life may seem now…
New life+] young again in another world: The accident
There was an accident. One of the students in my class, a girl about my age, was killed. It happened so suddenly that it still has a stunner effect on me. I can’t believe she’s gone and it feels like someone just punched me in the gut. To top it off, I’m now persona non grata at her funeral because apparently I cried during the service which made everyone think I was indifferent to her death.
The life after the accident
I can’t believe I’m alive. It feels like a dream. I’m in a hospital bed, hooked up to machines and my head is spinning. I try to remember what happened. I was driving home from work and something hit me from behind. When I woke up, the doctors were telling me that I had a severe brain injury and they weren’t sure if I would make it. But here I am, lying in this hospital bed, fighting for my life but alive nonetheless.
I don’t know how long I’ll be here for, but right now all I want is to wake up from this nightmare and start my new life. My wife has been by my side every step of the way and she’s been through so much with me. She’s been through the entire process of getting our kids ready for life without their mom and now she’s just starting her own new journey as a single parent…but she’s handling it well.
My kids are doing alright too, even though they’re going through some changes right now. They’re adapting well to living without their mom and they’re doing great in school…although they miss her a lot. My youngest is especially struggling without her mother around but he’s getting through it like any other kid would under the circumstances.
It’s overwhelming but thankfully there are people out there who care about us and want to help us get through this tough time. We’ve already received so many donations from friends and family
