Avoiding Mistakes When Buying Food

Date:

Many online shoppers are elderly, disabled, shut-in, or busy people, for whom food delivery is more convenient. However, some people prefer this method because they’ve had bad experiences at local markets. Here are five horror stories that will make you think twice about food delivery.

First, the long lines. The worst lines don’t necessarily consist of a million shipments. In fact, most lines are extended by credit cards and millions of coupons. Also, there are sometimes grandmothers who pay a bunch of quarters.

And there are frustrated mothers with two or three hyperactive children. These are people who are in dire need of food deliveries. Also, there have been a few heartless people who have told me that this is no place for children.

Accidents can happen to you too. Some of the more embarrassing ones include windows tipping over, top shelves falling off, and splashes from spilled drink cans. Children can also get stuck in tight spots, such as the frozen food section or between railings. Did we mention that food delivery should be a parent’s first choice?

The great thing about food delivery is that there are no snobby, indifferent shoppers. Not to mention the crazies who open a loaf of bread to check it’s fresh or the creeps who pick up an apple to see if it’s crisp.

However, the staff can also be a little crazy. There are employees who put expired products back on the shelf, store managers who don’t see the problem, and unscrupulous store owners who participate in the problem to make money. I just hope I don’t run into these types of personnel when I make deliveries.

Don’t forget to take care of parking spaces on the weekends. It’s hard enough to find a free spot, plus you have to maneuver an unattended shopping cart. The worst part is when a few abandoned trolleys take over what should be a free parking spot. It’s also absolutely impossible if you opt for delivery.

Just as there are no downsides to getting food delivered, there are not all bad things about buying food. But it’s the rare bad events that make food shopping different. Perhaps we should just get into the business of producing the food we eat.
